Linen Closet
We
ADORE Swedish linens. Embroidery, weaving, you name it.Until
recently, wedding trousseaus were filled with hand-woven cotton
and linen sheets, table cloths, tea towels, and dresser scarves,
many of them with hand-embroidered and hand-crocheted details. I keep my antique linens in the chest you see here. Often, the colors are the pale blues and roses of a Nordic summer
day, but sometimes they are the woodsy, vibrant colors of folk
art. Many Swedes would rather have new, machine made linens from
IKEA. But not us! We scour country auctions, antique stores, and
markets in search of beautifulSwedish antique linens and share with you the fruits
of our labors. Some of these linens have never been used, others
glow with the patina of loving use in times past. These are one
of a kind (more or less) items and once sold, will never reappear.
We are unable to accept returns, but provide detailed pictures
and descriptions so that you have a good idea of what you are
getting.
